La naturaleza del tiempo y su complejidad: El caso del tiempo geológico - Implicaciones educativas

Abstract

En este artículo pretendemos hacer una reflexión sobre el complejo concepto de tiempo, en sus vertientes filosófica y científica, de esta manera reconocemos la consecuente necesidad de profundizar en la investigación en el ámbito de la enseñanza y del aprendizaje de esta temática. Partiendo de cuatro ángulos de análisis: el primero mediante un abordaje de las sucesivas posiciones filosóficas y científicas sobre la naturaleza del tiempo; prosiguiendo con una reflexión sobre las percepciones actuales del tiempo; en un tercer ángulo de visión, se elaboran un conjunto de consideraciones sobre la cuantificación del tiempo dando una particular atención al tiempo físico, humano y geológico; y finalmente los autores reflexionan sobre un conjunto de implicaciones educacionales para el abordaje didáctico del tema, en el contexto de un proyecto de investigación en curso.

This article aims to reflect on the complex concept of time - its philosophical and scientific dimensions, and, therefore, to recognize the need of further research about the respective teaching and learning process. Four dimensions will be carried out: in depth approach of several scientific and philosophical views on the nature of time; reflection on current perceptions of time; development of a set of considerations, concerning the quantification of time, mainly the physical, human and geological time; authors’ reflection on a set of educational implications of the topic in the context of an ongoing research project.
