Auto-representação: a impossibilidade do auto-retrato e a impossibilidade de deixar de haver auto-retrato

Abstract

A presente dissertação orienta-se em torno de um corpo de trabalho prático com enquadramento teórico. Pretende-se explorar as relações existentes nas formas de figurar/representar inerentes ao auto-retrato e a auto-representação. Para tal, apresentamos três projectos subsumidos em reflexões que medeiam as ideias de auto-retrato e auto-representação. Anunciamos, também, as ideias de reflexo sem espelho e duplo, como promessas simbólicas pertencentes à arte de figuração própria. Terminamos com a ideia de que o auto-retrato carece de substanciação e, desta forma, propomos divisas operantes que ajustam o palimpsesto gramatical do auto-retrato sob efeitos de multiplicidade. A raiz deste trabalho é nutrida pelas considerações, de tendência artística, sobre a representação de um eu que é revisto pelo outro. A interacção deve existir para o auto-representado obter consequência, pois o “eu” sem o “outro” carece de unidade.

The present dissertation is oriented around a body of practical work with a theoretical framework. It is intended to explore the existing relationships in the ways to figure/represent inherent on self-portrait and self-representation. To this end, we present three projects subsumed into reflections that mediate ideas about self-portrait and self-representation. We also announce the ideas of the reflection without mirror and double, as symbolic promises that belong to the art of self-figuration. We ended up with the idea that self-portrait lacks of substantiation, and thus, we propose operating currencies that adjust the palimpsest grammar of the self-portrait under the influence of multiplicity. The root of this work is nourished by considerations, of artistic tendency, on the representation of a self that is reviewed by the other. The interaction should exist for the self-represented to get a consequence, because the "I" without the "other" lacks unity.
