Sequestro e armazenamento de CO2: aplicação da tecnologia em Portugal

Abstract

O presente trabalho visa analisar as várias opções para o sequestro do CO2 presente nos combustíveis fósseis, podendo isso acontecer antes ou depois da sua suja queima. São também analisadas as possibilidades existentes para o seu armazenamento definitivo, a nível geológico e oceânico ou a utilização do CO2 em processos industriais. Avaliam-se depois as principais fontes fixas de Portugal e o seu potencial para a aplicação desta tecnologia.

ABSTRACT: This work intent to analyze the existing options for the CO2 sequestration from the fossil fuels. That can occur before its burning or after it. Will also be analyzed the possibilities for the CO2 storage in geologic formations, in the ocean or its usage in industrial processes. For the main Portuguese CO2 sources will also be evaluated the potential for the installation of the capture and storage technologies.
