Web-Rail: sistema de gestão de informação ao viajante ferroviário

Abstract

Os sistemas de informação ao viajante (SIVs) permitem a construção de soluções eficientes que aliam a utilização de novas tecnologias da comunicação à gestão e disponibilização de serviços, conferindo um aumento de performance e a satisfação do público-alvo. O projecto de Dissertação proposto pela empresa EFACEC consiste no desenvolvimento de uma aplicação WEB no âmbito da gestão de serviços de transporte férreo. As necessidades de mercado e os requisitos de clientes da EFACEC conduziram à adopção de soluções baseadas em tecnologias WEB, nomeadamente no que respeita a interfaces gráficas, proporcionando maior autonomia e portabilidade aos sistemas. Será apresentado um estudo das principais e mais recentes tecnologias de desenvolvimento de interfaces gráficas Web e Web services, que preencham os requisitos e funcionalidades gerais do sistema e contribuam para o desenho de uma solução eficaz e satisfatória. A aplicação desenvolvida permite a visualização da localização de veículos em tempo-real num mapa georreferenciado e a gestão de informação disponibilizada em sistemas visuais situados em estações de metro de superfície.

The passenger information systems (SIVs) lead to the construction of efficient solutions joining up the usage of new communication technologies with management and availability of the public services, which enhances both the performance and the satisfaction of the target group. The dissertation project suggested by EFACEC involves the development of a web application in the field of the railway service management. The needs of the market and the EFACEC clients’ demands were taken into account when it was necessary to adopt solutions based on web technologies, regarding graphic interfaces, which provide higher autonomy and portability to the systems. A further study on the main and more recent technologies of web graphic interfaces and web services will be presented. These services aim at fulfilling the demands and general purposes of the system and help to find out a satisfactory and efficient solution. The final solution allows not only a real-time and accurate location of trams on a georeferenced map but also the management of the information provided by visual systems placed at tram stations.
