Representações de professores de português em Moçambique : sobre as competências linguísticas de alunos da 10ª classe

Abstract

O presente trabalho de investigação, centrado na especialidade de Português como língua não materna, enquadra-se no decurso de formação ao nível do mestrado em Didáctica de Línguas e tem como temática as representações de professores de Português em Moçambique sobre as competências linguísticas de seus alunos da 10ª classe. O estudo desenvolvido tem como foco os professores que leccionam em escolas situadas na zona suburbana, uma vez que os alunos destas escolas são falantes fluentes de línguas maternas de origem Bantu, tendo, maioritariamente, o Português como sua língua segunda. Por outro lado, seleccionamos os professores que leccionam a 10ª classe, classe terminal do ensino secundário geral que precede o ensino préuniversitário e, em que se exige do aluno uma competência linguística que responda às exigências deste nível. E, mais ainda, será para nós importante saber como lidam os professores com os erros dos alunos, que tratamento dão a esta matéria, e que norma(s) privilegiam em suas aulas, de modo a desenvolver a proficiência linguística destes. Pretendemos, também com este trabalho, poder ajudar a desmontar preconceitos à volta das normas linguísticas, da concepção (e relatividade) do erro. Pelas razões apontadas, acreditamos que estas representações nos permitirão compreender fenómenos a respeito da temática anunciada que, depois, nos ajudarão a desenhar melhor as estratégias de ensino com vista o desenvolvimento das competências linguísticas destes alunos em Língua Portuguesa.

The present investigation work, centred on the speciality of Portuguese as a second language, fits in with the masters’ level training course in Language Didactics and has as its theme the portrayals by Portuguese teachers in Mozambique of the linguistic competencies of their 10th Grade students. The study carried out focuses on the teachers that teach at schools located in the suburban areas, seeing as the students from these schools are fluent speakers of Bantu-origin mother tongues, with most of them speaking Portuguese as their second language. On the other hand, we selected teachers that teach the 10th Grade, the final year of the general secondary education which precedes the pre-university education, and where a linguistic competency, which meets the demands of this level, is required from the students. Furthermore, it will be important for us to know how the teachers deal with the students’ mistakes, what action is taken with regard to this issue, and what norm(s) prevail in their classes, in order to develop the students’ linguistic proficiency. With this work, we also intend to be able to help demonstrate the prejudices surrounding linguistic norms, formation (and relativity) of the mistake. For the reasons pointed out, we believe that these representations will allow for an understanding of the phenomena regarding the stated theme that, afterwards, will help us to better develop the teaching strategies with a view to developing these students’ linguistic competencies in the Portuguese Language.
