Dicionário poético de Cândido Lusitano: edição e estudo

Abstract

O presente trabalho tem por objectivo principal a edição da obra de Cândido Lusitano: Diccionario Poético. Propõe-se divulgar o texto e o seu autor, pelo que é acompanhado por um estudo essencialmente linguístico do mesmo. Nele se apresentam informações biobibliográficas do autor, numa contextualização da obra e do pensamento do seu criador. É apresentada uma análise lexicográfica da obra, que aborda os processos de selecção e ordenação da nomenclatura, bem como a caracterização linguística das entradas, seguindo-se um estudo aos artigos nela presentes que passa pela sua extensão, pela ordenação da informação e pela descrição de cada categoria. O estudo vem reforçado com análises comparativas entre a primeira e segunda edições que o livro sofreu, bem como com outras obras lexicográficas que lhe estiveram mais próximas.

This dissertation aims at the edition of the work by Cândido Lusitano Diccionario Poético. Taking into perspective an essentially linguistic approach, the main intention of this reflection is to make both the author and its work available to the public. Biographic and bibliographic information are provided so as to give a contextualization of the line of thought of Lusitano’s work. A lexicographic examination is presented, involving a nomenclature selection and organization, as well as a linguistic characterization of entries and their respective articles. The length of the articles and their categorization are also described. This study is supported with comparative analysis between the first and the second editions of the book. Furthermore, other contemporary lexicographic works were also object of comparative exploration.
