A duas vozes: as poéticas do/no feminino de Ana Paula Tavares e Shu Ting

Abstract

Propõe-se, nesta dissertação, uma leitura comparativa de textos selecionados de duas poetas contemporâneas que, tendo desenvolvido a sua atividade literária em contextos geográficos e culturais manifestamente diversos, recorreram ao trabalho lírico como meio de indagação da natureza e da circunstância da mulher. Com efeito, tanto a autora angolana Paula Tavares, como a poeta chinesa Shu Ting tematizam assiduamente a condição feminina de que são simultaneamente representantes e testemunhas, interrogando a natureza e o destino da mulher angolana e chinesa ao longo da história, figurando-a em situações que oscilam entre a subalternidade e a reivindicação de uma voz própria. Salientam-se tanto as semelhanças temáticas e imagísticas que permitem aproximar os conjuntos poéticos selecionados, como as inúmeras diferenças que os singularizam.

This dissertation proposes a comparative reading of selected texts by two contemporary female poets who, having developed their literary activity in manifestly different geographical and cultural contexts, resorted to poetry as a means of inquiry into the nature and circumstances of women. In fact, both the Angolan author Paula Tavares and the Chinese poet Shu Ting have often thematized the female condition which they simultaneously represent and witness, questioning the nature and the destiny of Angolan and Chinese women throughout history, portraying them in situations that oscillate between subalternity and the claiming of a voice of their own. We highlight both the thematic and imagistic similarities that bring the selected poems together, as abstract well as the numerous differences that make them unique.
