A experiência do objecto doméstico no espaço da cidade

Abstract

Tendo como ponto de partida uma discussão de ideias entre a esfera privada e a esfera pública, levantou-se uma patologia presente nas cidades actuais, associada aos lugares. Como forma de os (re)activar, este trabalho propõe um estudo do espaço doméstico e da sua relação com a pessoa, que desempenha um papel fundamental na experiência do espaço público. Na dimensão doméstica o foco incidiu sobre a habitação, num primeiro momento, por ser um espaço onde a relação pessoa-lugar funciona, de um modo geral, de forma emocional. Tendo como principal argumentação teórica a reflexão feita por Mihalyi Csikszentmihalyi e Eugene Rochberg-Halton de que os objectos domésticos estabelecem com a pessoa uma afectividade e cumplicidade, discute-se a ideia da descontextualização destes objectos, pertencentes a uma esfera intimista, para um lugar isento de emoções, numa tentativa de contribuir para uma melhor (re)vivência das cidades.

Having as a starting point a discussion of ideas between the private sphere and the public sphere, a pathology was raised in the current cities, associated with places. This project proposes, as a way of (re)activating these said places, a study of the domestic space and its relation with the individual, which plays a fundamental part in the experience of the public space. In the domestic dimension the focus was on the habitation, in first place because it's a place where the relation individual/location works, in a general way, through emotion. As the main theoretical argument we have the reflection made by Mihalyi Csikszentmihalyi and Eugene Rochberg-Halton, stating that the domestic objects establish with the individual a cumplicity of affection, discussing the idea of descontextualizing these objects, belonging to an intimate sphere, to a place exempted of emotions, in an attempt to contribute to a better (re)living of the cities.
