Institucionalização do ensino da contabilidade em Portugal nos séculos XVIII e XIX

Abstract

Procurar descobrir como se processou e caracterizou o ensino da Contabilidade no nosso país nos séculos XVIII e XIX é o tema central do trabalho. Complementarmente, o estudo visará ainda fornecer subsídios para a discussão das circunstâncias económicas, sociais e comerciais que fundamentaram a necessidade de criação do ensino oficial de Contabilidade em Portugal. A identificação de referências (institucionais e pessoais) de difusão e produção de saberes contabilísticos no Portugal Setecentista e Oitocentista, constituirá também um dos objectivos a atingir com a presente dissertação, recorrendose, para o efeito, ao exame de estabelecimentos de ensino de Contabilidade localizados nas duas maiores cidades comerciais do País – Lisboa e Porto.

The central theme of this work is based upon of how the study of teaching of Accounting has been processed and characterized in our country, during the 18th and 19th centuries. Complementarily, this study will still supply contributions for the discussion of economical, social and commercial circumstances that have fundamented the necessity for the creation of the first official course of Accounting in Portugal. The identification of references (institutional and personal) of the diffusion and production of accounting knowledge in Portugal, during the 18th and 19th centuries, will also constitute one of the goals to be achieved in the present dissertation, appealing, for this, the analysis of the teaching establishments of Accounting located in the two major commercial cities of our country – Lisbon and Oporto.
