Desenho urbano e o plano diretor municipal: a cidade consolidada de Espinho

Abstract

Com a Revolução Industrial e com o surgir das Guerras Mundiais, começam a emergir os primeiros problemas urbanos, contudo, as disciplinas do território que poderiam tentar combater essas questões, não estavam aptas para tal, como foi o caso do Planeamento Urbano e da Arquitetura. Desta forma, surge a disciplina do Desenho Urbano. Esta disciplina veio ocupar-se dos Espaço de Domínio Público e das problemáticas que daí podiam erguer-se. Tratava-se de tornar estes espaços esteticamente apelativos, seguros, agradáveis e torna-los interessantes para a população. De acordo com o acima referido, esta dissertação terá como Caso Estudo a Cidade de Espinho, de forma a perceber a integração das questões do Desenho Urbano no Plano Diretor Municipal, mais especificamente no contexto da Zona da Cidade Consolidada.

With the Industrial Revolution and the outbreak of the World Wars, the first urban problems began to emerge, however, the territorial disciplines that could try to combat these issues, were not able to do so, as was the case of Urban Planning and Architecture. Thus, the discipline of Urban Design arose. This discipline was concerned with Public Domain Spaces and the problems that could arise from them. It was about making these spaces aesthetically appealing, safe, pleasant, and interesting to the population. According to the above mentioned, this dissertation will have Espinho City as a case study, in order to understand the integration of Urban Design issues in the Municipal Master Plan, more specifically in the context of the Consolidated City Area.
