Coordenação de investigação clínica na CUF Academic Center: estágio curricular

Abstract

O presente relatório retrata o estágio curricular na área da Coordenação de Investigação Clínica na CUF Academic Center, no âmbito do Mestrado em Gestão da Investigação Clínica. Durante o período de estágio, foi possível contactar com diferentes unidades de saúde do grupo CUF, nomeadamente os Hospitais CUF Descobertas e CUF Tejo, onde foram desenvolvidas atividades de coordenação, no âmbito dos Estudos Observacionais, dos Projetos de Iniciativa do Investigador (PIMs) e dos Ensaios Clínicos, sendo estes últimos os mais relevantes durante o período de estágio. Este relatório expõe uma visão geral relativamente ao Estado da Arte da investigação clínica, a nível nacional, destacando a situação atual em Portugal, no que respeita ao enquadramento legal e aos intervenientes envolvidos. Este relatório está organizado em 2 capítulos major: - Capítulo I - contempla as funções de um Coordenador de Estudos Clínicos, bem como as principais atividades realizadas durante o estágio. Das várias áreas terapêuticas, foi possível contactar de uma forma mais próxima com as especialidades de dermatologia e oncologia. - Capítulo II – que inclui uma revisão bibliográfica que destaca a pertinência da Farmácia Hospitalar na investigação clínica. A oportunidade de estagiar na CUF revelou ser uma mais-valia em vários aspetos, nomeadamente do ponto de vista profissional por permitir colocar em prática os conhecimentos teóricos adquiridos ao longo de todo o percurso académico. E do ponto de vista pessoal, por ter proporcionado bases ao nível da gestão de tempo e recursos, bem como por ter aprimorado o sentido de responsabilidade e organização.

This report portrays the curricular internship in Clinical Research Coordination at CUF Academic Center, within the scope of the Master in Management of Clinical Research. During the internship period, it was possible to contact with different health units of the CUF group, namely the CUF Descobertas and CUF Tejo Hospitals, where I developed the coordination activity in Observational Studies, Researcher Initiative Projects (PIMs) and Clinical Trials. During the internship period, Clinical Trials were the most relevant. This report provides an overview of the state of the art of clinical research, at the national level, highlighting the current situation in Portugal, concerning the legal framework and the stakeholders involved. This report is organized into 2 major chapters: - Chapter I - includes the functions of a Clinical Research Coordinator, as well as the main activities carried out during the internship. From the various therapeutic areas, I was able to get in touch more closely with the specialties of dermatology and oncology. - Chapter II - which includes a bibliographic review that highlights the relevance of the Hospital Pharmacy in clinical research. The opportunity to intern at CUF proved to be an asset in several aspects, namely from a professional perspective for allowing me to put into practice the theoretical knowledge acquired throughout the academic path. And from a personal point of view, for having provided me with bases in terms of time and resource management and improving the sense of responsibility and organization.
