Comunicações móveis 3G e impacte no sector das viagens e Turismo

Abstract

Esta dissertação procura analisar as comunicações moveis e sua aplicação e impacte no sector das viagens e turismo. Perante o desenvolvimento das tecnologias da informação e comunicação e das exigências crescentes do consumidor é necessário encontrar formas de disponibilizar informação pertinente, concisa, actualizada e atraente. As comunicações móveis 3G podem ser um meio importante para disponibilização dessa informação e outros serviços com as características referidas, e de grande utilidade para o sector. Começou-se por abordar de forma teórica o sector das viagens e turismo dando especial ênfase à informação e às formas utilizadas para a sua disseminação pelos intervenientes. Apresentou-se também mais aprofundadamente a Internet como meio de acesso e divulgação da informação, e as comunicações móveis 3G como veiculo de distribuição da informação turística ao viajante, em qualquer local e momento da sua viagem, em função do seu perfil e necessidades. São apresentados os resultados obtidos através de questionários, que têm como objectivo principal analisar o impacte das comunicações móveis 3G no acesso à informação turística. Os resultados revelaram que existe uma apetência para a utilização das comunicações móveis 3G, sendo a informação mais desejada a relacionada com informações úteis relacionadas com a saúde, a localização geográfica dos recursos turísticos e o itinerário recomendado. A Internet no computador e no telemóvel, juntamente com os amigos e familiares foram escolhidos pelos inquiridos como as fontes de informação turística do futuro.

ABSTRACT: This dissertation aims to analyse the possible application and impact of mobile communications in the tourism and travelling sector. Given the rapid development of the information and communication technologies and the growing consumer requirements and needs it is necessary to investigate alternative and appropriate forms of making available pertinent, concise, attractive and up-to-date information to the nowadays consumers. 3G mobile communications appear to be an important opportunity to transport and present this information and other services with the former characteristics. This fact is probably of great impact in the tourism sector. The dissertation starts by describing, in a theoretical way, the trips and tourism sector, giving special emphasis to the information and the means used for its spread and dissemination to all involved players. The Internet was also analysed as a mean to access and disseminate the information and the use of 3G mobile communications for the distribution and presentation of the tourist information to the traveller, any place and any time of the trip, as a function of the traveller profile and specific needs. The results obtained via questionnaires, were presented and analysed with focus on the impact of mobile communications as a preferable mean to access tourist information during the traveller trips. The results revealed a high interest on the use of mobile communications to access tourist information, being the most desired one related with useful information for travellers related with health care, the geographical location of the tourist resources and the most recommended itinerary. The access to Internet via computers and advanced mobile phones, together with the friends and relatives were chosen, by the inquired, as the sources of tourist information of the future.
