Motivação intrínseca e/ou extrínseca para o sucesso na aprendizagem da matemática

Abstract

O objetivo central deste trabalho consiste na análise da relação entre as competições matemáticas e o aumento da motivação e consequente sucesso na aprendizagem da matemática. O estudo foi realizado com 12 alunos da turma em que leciono, 7 do 2.º ano e 5 do 3.º ano de escolaridade sendo que os 5 alunos do 3.º ano acompanham o currículo do 2.º ano e beneficiam de Medidas de Suporte à Aprendizagem e à Inclusão do Dec. Lei 54/2018- Medidas Seletivas, alíneas b), c) e d), bem como de condições especiais de avaliação previstas nas alíneas e), g) e h). Foram utilizados instrumentos com o objetivo de comparar e avaliar a motivação dos alunos: competição online e competição realizada em prova de papel. Assim, foi realizado um inquérito no início e outro no final do estudo de caso que pretende analisar a opinião/atitude e expectativas dos alunos face à disciplina de matemática. As hipóteses colocadas neste estudo foram avaliadas através do método comparativo e correlacional, podendo concluir-se: sem dúvida a motivação é a chave do sucesso nas aprendizagens e as competições matemáticas online contribuem para aumentar a motivação dos alunos.

The main objective of this work is to analyze the relationship between mathematical competitions and increased motivation and consequent success in learning mathematics. The study was carried out with 12 students from the class I teach, 7 from the 2nd year and 5 from the 3rd year of schooling, with the 5 students from the 3rd year following the 2nd year curriculum and benefiting from Measures to Support Learning and the Inclusion of Dec. Law 54/2018 - Selective Measures, sub-paragraphs b), c) and d), as well as special conditions for assessment provided for in sub-paragraphs e), g) and h). In this study, a survey was carried out at the beginning and at the end of the case study that aims to analyze the opinion/attitude and expectations of students towards the subject of mathematics. Instruments were used with the objective of comparing and evaluating the students' motivation: online competition and competition held in a paper test. The hypotheses put forward in this study were evaluated using the comparative and correlational method, and it can be concluded: without a doubt, motivation is the key to success in learning and online math competitions contribute to increasing student motivation.
