The present work describes the implementation of Lean tools in several areas of Teka Portugal. The main objective was to reduce the number of supply failures in assembly lines, and the time associated with them. During the process, several root causes were identified, and some of them were acted upon, using mainly Lean tools such as visual management, 5S and the kanban system. These improvements not only achieved the intended goal, but also impacted information, parts and people flow, intermediate stock levels, and relationships with suppliers. The results obtained show how the smallest change can cause big impacts, also proving the effectiveness of the Lean philosophy in industry. |
