Estudo comparativo de metodologias na análise de amostras forenses

Abstract

Este relatório de estágio tem como objetivo descrever as atividades realizadas durante o Estágio Curricular no Serviço de Genética e Biologia Forense, da Delegação do Norte, do Instituto Nacional de Medicina Legal e Ciências Forenses, entre setembro de 2020 e junho de 2021. Inicialmente, apresenta-se a Entidade de Acolhimento e os conceitos teóricos importantes para a compreensão das atividades desenvolvidas. De seguida, descrevem-se as validações realizadas e respetivas metodologias utilizadas desde a extração do DNA, à análise dos seus fragmentos. Por fim, faz se uma breve discussão relativamente ao trabalho desenvolvido, sendo este a Validação do kit de Extração de DNA PrepFiler™ em Amostras de Referência, a Validação do kit de Extração de PrepFiler Express BTA™ em Amostras Difíceis e a Validação do kit de Extração de DNA PrepFiler Express BTA™ em Amostras de Restos Cadavéricos.

This internship report aims to describe the activities carried out during the Curriculum Internship at the Service of Genetics and Forensic Biology, of the Northern Delegation, of the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences, between eptember 2020 and June 2021. Initially, the Host Entity and the important theoretical concepts for understanding the developed activities are presented. The validations carried out and the respective methodologies used from the extraction of the DNA to the analysis of its fragments are described below. Finally, there is a brief discussion regarding the work carried out, namely the Validation of the PrepFiler Express™ DNA Extraction kit on Reference Samples, the Validation of the PrepFiler Express BTA™ Extraction kit on Difficult Samples and the Validation of the PrepFiler Express BTA™ DNA Extraction kit on Cadaveric Remain Samples.
