NEET e Missing-Middle: a empregabilidade falhada em dois municípios portugueses

Abstract

O presente trabalho procura demonstrar a realidade vivenciada pela juventude portuguesa, entre os 16-29 anos, oriunda de baixos estratos sociais, uma vez que a parcela de NEET e de Missing-Middle tem crescido entre estes. Para isso foram considerados uma série de fatores e consequências, que serão comprovados ou refutados numa fase final. Os NEET, jovens que nem trabalham nem estudam e os Missing-Middle, jovens enveredados em trabalhos precários, merecem especial atenção por parte da sociedade, uma vez que eles próprios formam diferentes grupos internos que refletem o estrato, género e a escolaridade do indivíduo. Com este trabalho procurou-se demonstrar quem são eles, como surgiram e as consequências que têm para o indivíduo e para o país.

The present work seeks to demonstrate the reality experienced by Portuguese youth, aged between 16-29 years, coming from low social strata, since the share of NEET and Missing-Middle has grown among them. For this, a series of factors and consequences were considered, which will be proven or refuted in a final phase. The NEET, young people who neither work nor study, and the Missing-Middle, young people engaged in precarious work, deserve special attention from society, since they themselves form different internal groups that reflect the individual's stratum, gender and educational level. This work seems to demonstrate who they are, how they came about and the consequences they have for the individual and for the country.
