The main goal of this study is to understand how STEAM (Science, Tecnology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) approach can contribute for an interdisciplinary learning in high school. Through the contribution of PIC-EDU (Program for Scientific Initiation for Young Students in Education), tasks were adapted and created, involving STEAM, with the intention of being later implemented. To achieve that goal, I intend to answer the following research questions: (i) Which strategies are used by students to solve tasks in the STEAM line? (ii) Which knowledge areas were identified by the students? (iii) What is the role of cartoon in establishing STEAM connections? Due to the nature of the questions, we developed a qualitative study with interpretative focus, based in data collected, written and audio records, during the Supervised Teaching Practice, in a class of 10th and 11th grade in a school in the district of Aveiro. From the analysis of the results obtained, it can be concluded that, most students identified the knowledge areas of STEAM and recognized that they have learned new concepts from other topics, when introduced to Python programming and resorting to the exploration of a cartoon, showing that way the contributions of interdisciplinary teaching in the education of students. |
