anteriores à realização do questionário). Posteriormente explorar-se-á a relação
According to the existing literature in the field of chronopsychology, individuals can be categorizes as a function of their chronotype, according to their preference in terms of sleeping patterns and task performance, being divided into three categories: morning-types, evening-types and intermediate. What distinguishes this categorization is the time when the individual's psychological, physical and physiological performance peaks, which may occur in the morning, in the evening, or vary between the two, respectively. In other words, the chronotype influences our performance depending on the time of day, but also our personality, or prosocial behaviors (e.g., morning people are more likely to develop prosocial behaviors compared to evening-types). This project's main objectives are, firstly, to observe the relationship between the chronotype, the levels of empathy and the sleeping times (in the 24 hours prior to the completion of the questionnaire). Subsequently, the relationship between chronotype and performance on the tasks of social judgment of faces will be explored. On the other hand, we also intend to investigate the existence of differences between genders (female sex more prone to morningness, while males tend to prefer the evening, for example) with regard to this task, and to verify whether the levels of empathy or sleep moderate the relationship between chronotype and the social inferences we make based on other people's faces. Thus, 225 participants answered the Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire – short version (rMEQ), Basic Insomnia and Sleep Quality Scale (BaSIQS), Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI), Morningness-Eveningness-Stability-Scale improved (MESSi) and to the task of social inference through facial stimuli Some of the results found in this study were the association between the assessment of aggressiveness on female faces and poor sleep quality, the later we go to bed, the less sociability assessments will be made on male faces, for example. Finally, this study can be considered innovative in that it provides data that contribute to a better understanding of this area, but also because it opens up the possibility for the existence of new studies. |
