Reflexos e conflitos culturais na obra Amor e dedinhos de pé, de Henrique de Senna Fernandes

Abstract

Regressando à China em 1999, Macau, como região administrativa especial, celebrou seu 20.º aniversário de retorno em 2019. Segundo as descrições nas obras de Henrique de Senna Fernandes, nas ruas de Macau, frequentemente, veem-se pessoas com rostos da Europa Ocidental que falam fluentemente cantonês. Eles não são os portugueses que vivem em Macau como a maioria das pessoas pensa. Essas pessoas são os Macaenses. Os Macaenses, ou seja, «os filhos da terra», que têm um nome mais formal, «Habitantes de Ascendência Portuguesa», são o melhor resultado da combinação de culturas orientais e ocidentais em Macau. Através de uma introdução que incide sobre a presença dos macaenses na história de Macau, seguida ,uma reflexão sobre a língua portuguesa, como testemunho de integração e o seu impacto cultural na região, pretendeu-se neste estudo fazer uma análise atenta de uma obra de Henrique de Senna Fernandes, tendo em conta o fenómeno da fusão e do conflito cultural em Macau, ao nível da alimentação, casamento, educação e outros aspetos relevantes.

Returning to China in 1999, Macau, as a special administrative region, celebrated its 20th anniversary of return in 2019. According to the descriptions in the works of Henrique de Senna Fernandes, on the streets of Macau, it is common to see people with faces from Western Europe who speak fluent Cantonese. They are not the Portuguese who live in Macau as most people think. These people are the Macaenses. The Macaenses, who have a more formal name, «Inhabitants of Portuguese descent», are the best result of the combination of oriental and western cultures in Macau. Through an introduction that focuses on the presence of the Macanese in the history of Macau, followed by a reflection on the Portuguese language, as a testimony of integration and its cultural impact on the region, this study intended to make a careful analysis of a work by Henrique de Senna Fernandes, taking into account the phenomenon of cultural fusion and conflict in Macau, in terms of food, marriage, education and other relevant aspects
