Abstract: Estamos num mundo global.
We are in a global world. Communication between people is much faster than a few years ago. Within seconds, we are able to interact with people on the other side of the world. But what about children? How do they experience this reality? Are they able to interact and integrate into the daily life of a group, respecting and understanding the Other? According to the literature, children in the contemporary world are less interacting and less likely to develop social skills that are fundamental to collaborative learning and living with the Other. Reflecting on this situation and carefully observing the reality of the educational context, we decided to develop a project aimed at promoting, following an Experiential Approach, cooperative learning in a preschool education group, in a context “outside the four walls” of the classroom. activities. This was done outdoors, given that the literature points out that the outer space, if properly organized and planned, constitutes a primordial social context to develop positive relationships between children, as well as having found that the outer space of the educational context in a functional analysis, it was poor in potential affordances that coincided with the interests and needs of children, and their interest in their involvement in experiences was low. Thus, through qualitative methodologies such as research/intervention, we developed a project that went beyond simply promoting collaborative classroom work, with structured and directed activities. To this end, we designed a project, guided by three pillars with different methodologies, where children and their experiences, analyzed through the key indicators of the Experiential Approach in Education (emotional well-being and involvement), were essential for the development of the project. With active learning in social interaction, meaningful, shared, individual experiences, and opportunities for action and self-expression, responsibilitytaking, and decision-making, children were given the opportunity to share adventures, fears, achievements, and discoveries with their peers. After the diverse experiences, and the analysis and reflection on them, we conclude that, thanks to the transformation of space, the introduction of more resources, the more frequent and longer trips to outer space, the existence of more cooperative challenges and the development of cooperative activities, the group became more inclusive, cooperative and cohesive, even complicit, valuing and enjoying the experiences lived in pairs, as well as playing outside, became more complex, rich, diverse and promoter of diverse learning, increasing, significantly, the levels of emotional well-being and involvement.
