Corpo : vegetação de ruína - Em nome da terra, de Vergílio Ferreira

Abstract

O presente trabalho pretende demonstrar que o corpo é o alicerce edificante do romance Em Nome da Terra, de Vergílio Ferreira. Ao olhar do leitor, o corpo irrompe ora grosseiro, repulsivo e decadente, ora deslumbrante, perfeito e ágil. Por isso, o romance esculpe o corpo deformado, degradado e envelhecido, assim como belo, esplêndido e jovem, mostrando, dessa forma, a beleza que pode existir na velhice de um corpo.

ABSTRACT: The present work intends to demonstrate that the body is the edifying structure of Vergílio Ferreira’s novel Em Nome da Terra. In the reader’s perspective, the body either irrupts rude and decadent, or sumptuous, perfect and agile. Therefore, the roman portraits the unshaped, old and deformed body, as well as the beautiful, splendid and young, clarifying the beauty that can emerge from getting old.
