Avaliação dos padrões de consumo dos participantes no AgitÁgueda - Art Festival

Abstract

A importância dos eventos na dinamização turística dos territórios é um fenómeno de grande expansão na atualidade. Os festivais são um tipo de eventos que tem acompanhado essa tendência. Apesar dos festivais de música serem os mais conhecidos, recentemente outras temáticas têm sido desenvolvidas, como por exemplo, festivais gastronómicos e outros festivais de arte. Neste contexto, pretende-se com este projeto de investigação analisar a importância que os festivais poderão ter para a dinamização económica dos territórios analisando o caso concreto do AgitÁgueda - Art Festival. De modo a alcançar o objetivo, inicialmente procedeu-se a uma revisão da literatura relativamente aos festivais, características dos participantes em festivais e seus padrões de consumo. Com base nesta revisão da literatura, desenvolveu-se uma metodologia para analisar as características e padrões de consumo dos participantes (visitantes e residentes do concelho de Águeda) do evento AgitÁgueda - Art Festival. Foi aplicado um questionário a uma amostra de participantes neste evento (N=273) com o objetivo de conhecer as suas características, as motivações para participar no evento, as atividades que realizaram durante a participação, como avaliam o evento, as emoções que sentiram durante a participação no evento e as despesas que realizaram durante a sua participação. Os resultados obtidos revelam que a maior parte dos inquiridos são do sexo feminino, onde grande parte deles possui habilitações como o nível secundário e a licenciatura. A observação da arte urbana e a visita às ruas dos chapéus de chuva coloridos são as principais atividades realizadas e os principais fatores motivacionais para os inquiridos participarem neste evento. Relativamente aos gastos efetuados, a maior parte das despesas são realizadas em alimentação e bebidas dentro e fora do recinto. No presente estudo, também se conclui que o grupo dos inquiridos com idade mais avançada e os que estão casados tendem a pertencer ao grupo das despesas mais altas. Também, quanto maior a repetição da visita, a permanência e o número de pessoas por quem se é responsável pelas despesas os inquiridos tendem a pertencer ao grupo das despesas mais altas. O tipo de visitante influencia as despesas, na medida em que os turistas tendem a pertencer ao grupo das despesas altas e os excursionistas ao grupo das despesas baixas e médias. Globalmente os inquiridos estão satisfeitos com o evento e irão recomendá-lo aos seus familiares e amigos, sendo que o fator recomendar a visita aquele que influencia em grande parte o grupo das despesas médias. No que concerne à avaliação dos atributos no evento, o fator diversão e desporto também influencia maioritariamente o grupo das despesas médias. Este projeto de investigação termina com algumas sugestões para os organizadores do evento no sentido de aumentar a sua atratividade e relevância económica para o território onde é desenvolvido.

The importance of the events in the organization of the territories it is a phenomenon of great expansion nowadays. Although music festivals are the best known, recently other themes have been developed, as example: the gastronomic festivals and other art festivals. In this context, it is intended with this research project, to analyze how important festivals might be to economic dynamism of the territories, analyzing the concrete case of the AgitÁgueda - Art Festival. In order to reach the goal, initially it was proceeded with a literature revision referring the festivals, the characteristics of the participants in the festivals and their consumption patterns. Based on this literature revision, it was developed a methodology to analyze the characteristics and consumption patterns of the participants (visitors and residents of the municipality of Águeda) of the AgitÁgueda - Art Festival. It was applied a quiz to a sample of participants of this event (N=273) in order to know their characteristics, their motivations to participate in the event, the activities they realized during their participation, how they evaluate the event, the emotions they felt during their participation in the event and the expenses they had during the participation. The obtained results show that most of the respondents are female, where most of them have qualifications such as high school level and degree. Watching urban art and visiting the streets with the colorful umbrellas are the main activities people do and the main motivational factors for the respondents participate in this event. Concerning the expenses, most of them are spent on food and drinks inside and outside the space. In this study, it is also concluded that the group of older respondents and those who are married tend to belong to the group of higher expenditures. Also the greator the repetition of visit, the stays and the number of people for who are responsible for the expenses, the respondents tend to belong to the group of higher expenditures. The type of visitor influences the expenses, as tourist tend to belong to the high expenditure group and hikers tend to belong to the low and medium expenditure group. Globally, the respondents are satisfied with the event and they will recommend it to their family and friends, with the factor recommending the visit being one that largely influences the medium expenditure group. Regarding the evaluation of attributes in the event, the fun and sports factor also influences the medium expenditure group to a large extent. This research project ends with some suggestions for the event organizers in order to increase its attractiveness and economic relevance for the territory in which it is developed.
