Abstract: | A presente dissertação apresenta o estudo desenvolvido no âmbito da
no gabinete de projeto da empresa This dissertation presents the study developed in the scope of the resistance to fire of stainless steel structural elements carried out simultaneously with a curricular internship in the Arestalfer S.A. enterprise. The aim of this study was to compare the influence of the stainless steel constitutive law on the fire resistance currently presented in Eurocode 3 with the influence of a revision to that law by analyzing different mechanical behavior in the ultimate strength of the material. The curricular internship bridged the reality of the academic experience with the one in a company, by using the skills acquired throughout the course in the tasks that were developed. In order to achieve the objectives proposed in the academic study, several commercial stainless steel profiles of three different classes, exposed to fire conditions, were tested using the SAFIR software, comparing results for the current version of the EC3 and for its proposed revision. Finally, by applying concepts from the academic study to a practical case that was analyzed during the internship, a simplified calculation of a helicoidal staircase in stainless steel was also carried out, including the safety verification in a fire situation. The curricular internship was divided in two phases. The first one consisted of budget calculation, and the second was the period spent on the design office of the company |
