trabalho The research project presented in this dissertation comprises two studies, which aim to explore the relationship between the levels of motivation of violin teachers in an articulated programme and their perception of their students’ motivation. The primary objective of the first study, of a quantitative nature, was the multidimensional characterisation of the teachers’ motivation and consisted of a survey involving 30 violin teachers -15 men and 15 women, aged between 23 and 60 years of age - in an articulated programme in the Aveiro region. The survey featured questions relating to job satisfaction, engagement, burnout, emotional regulation, ruminative answers and perceptions of students’ motivation. Based on the participants in the first study, two respondents were selected to participate in a semi-structured interview, in order to develop a more comprehensive understanding of teachers’ motivation. The results suggest that the teachers who perceive their students to have higher levels of motivation are intrinsically more motivated in their work |
