This thesis had to propose the study and optimization of the main parameters that influence the synthesis process of ytterbium and aluminum grenade (YbAG) codoped with erbium and molybdenum using a method of auto combustion in solution (SCS).The optimization study consisted in a controlled variation of parameters as the homogeneity of the solution, ways of heating and processes of thermal treatment in a way to identity the process that that generated samples with the best upconversion. Posteriorly, with the intuit of understanding the structural difference between the samples with good and bad emission, it was used the technique of X-ray diffraction. In the second phase it was made a thermo-optic characterization of the best sample with the porpoise of studying its behavior as a sensor at temperature, based on the ratio of the emission intensities of two thermally coupled energy levels. As a result of those study, the synthesis mythology by scs was developed, which allowed to increase the intensity of the studied emission in a reproducible way. The synthesized material also allowed to increase the sensitivity of the temperature measurement by the above method, albeit at a narrower temperature range, than that reported in prior work on the same material/synthesis process. It was further found that, due to the developed synthesis process, the material did not have a pure YbAG: Er: Mo phase. |
