As redes cicláveis como instrumento de desenvolvimento de um território : o caso da Murtosa

Abstract

O constante crescimento da procura pelo turismo ciclável demonstra que é cada vez mais importante analisar e perceber a forma em que a oferta está estruturada e se a mesma corresponde às expetativas que os ciclistas necessitam. A presente dissertação de mestrado tem como objetivo perceber de que forma as redes cicláveis podem ser um instrumento que despolete o desenvolvimento de um território, onde se irá analisar especificamente a rede ciclável do município da Murtosa. O estudo apresentado teve como base uma revisão bibliográfica sobre os temas, redes e turismo ciclável, bem como foram administradas e analisadas entrevistas. As entrevistas foram concretizadas a entidades públicas, privadas e a investigadores que se dedicam sobre o tema. Este estudo permitiu ter um maior alcance sobre o impacto que a rede ciclável tem vindo a ter, nomeadamente tendo em conta as perspetivas dos agentes do território. Através das análises percebeu-se que um dos condicionantes que se destaca na rede ciclável da Murtosa, é a falta de manutenção do espaço de circulação. Esta análise permitiu conhecer as perceções dos agentes ativos no território acerca do desenvolvimento da rede, o que permite elaborar estratégias futuras, que facilitem o melhoramento da rede e consequentemente um maior nível de satisfação tantos dos utilizadores como dos agentes envolvidos.

The constant growth in demand for cycling tourism shows that it is increasingly important to analyze and perceive the way in which supply is structured and whether it meets the expectations that cyclists need. This dissertation aims to understand how cycling networks can be an instrument that triggers the development of a territory, where we will analyze specifically the cycle network of the municipality of Murtosa. The study was based on a bibliographical review on the themes of networks and cycling tourism, interviews were administered and analysed. The interviews were carried out to public and private entities and researchers dedicated to the subject. This study made it possible to have a wider scope on the impact that the cycling network has been having, in particular taking into account the perspectives of the agents of the territory. Through the analyzes it was noticed that one of the determinants that stands out in the cycling network of Murtosa, is the lack of maintenance of the circulation space. This analysis allowed to know the perceptions of the active agents in the territory about the development of the network, which allows to elaborate future strategies, that facilitate the improvement of the network and consequently a greater level of satisfaction of the users as well as the agents involved.
