As alterações climáticas e dieta: abordagens em equipamentos para a educação ambiental

Abstract

O presente estudo foi realizado no âmbito do mestrado em Biologia Aplicada tendo como objetivo o estudo da interligação entre os hábitos alimentares, e a problemática atual das Alterações Climáticas (AC) em Portugal, focando a zona centro do país. Assim sendo, e partindo dos pressupostos da Educação Ambiental (EA), e dos Equipamentos para a Educação Ambiental (EqEA) enquanto ferramentas executoras desta, recorreu-se à análise 3 de EqEA situados na zona centro de Portugal. A metodologia desenvolvida seguiu um desenho com abordagens qualitativas, a partir do estudo de casos múltiplos de 3 entrevistas semiestruturadas a responsáveis de EqEA, complementadas com um levantamento Nacional não exaustivo, e a respetiva distribuição geográfica, dos EqEA cujo projeto pedagógico aborda temáticas relacionadas com as AC. De um modo geral, os resultados demonstram que o binómio dieta-AC não é, de momento, um tema cuja recetividade permita a sua fácil introdução nos projetos pedagógicos dos EqEA. Em Portugal, apenas 4 dos 42 EqEA explorados abordavam a ligação entre a dieta e as AC. Por outro lado, temas como a sustentabilidade e a conservação do ambiente, focados nos recursos que a envolvente dos EqEA tem para oferecer, são mais frequentemente abordados. A análise refletiva dos dados permite inferir que, a ausência do tema em causa, prende-se muitas vezes com questões culturais, tradicionais, socioeconómicas e até mesmo com a dificuldade em tornar a mensagem suficientemente recetiva para o público. Neste sentido, é necessário reforçar-se o papel dos EqEA, enquanto ferramentas que permitam a implementação de uma EA problematizadora e sociocrítica capaz de desmistificar e desconstruir, gradualmente, certos hábitos que devem ser vistos à luz dos danos que provocam.

The present study was carried out within the scope of the Master's Degree in Applied Biology, with the objective of studying the interconnection between dietary habits and the current problems of Climate Change (AC) in Portugal, focusing on the central zone of the country. Thus, based on the assumptions of Environmental Education (EA), and Environmental Education Equipment (EqEA) as the executing tools of this, which allow the conjugation of the educational dimension with other dimensions, we recurred to the analysis of 3 EqEA, located the central area of Portugal. The methodology developed followed a mixed design with qualitative approaches, based on the study of multiple cases and content analysis of 3 semi-structured interviews with EqEA managers, complemented with a quantitative approach referring to a non-exhaustive National survey, complemented with the respective geographic distribution, of the EqEA whose pedagogical project addressed topics related to AC. In general, the results demonstrate that the AC-dietary binomial is not, at the moment, a subject whose receptivity allows its easy introduction into the pedagogical projects of EqEA. In Portugal, only 4 of the 42 EqEA explored addressed the link between diet and AC. On the other hand, issues such as sustainability and conservation of the environment, focused on the resources that the EqEA environment has to offer, are more frequently addressed. Reflective analysis of the data allows us to infer that the absence of the theme in question is often related to cultural, traditional, socioeconomic issues and even to the difficulty in making the message sufficiently receptive to the public. In this sense, it is necessary to reinforce the role of the EqEA, as tools that allow the implementation of problematizing and sociocritical AE, capable of demystifying and gradually deconstructing certain habits that must be seen in light of the damages they cause.
