Intervenção do design na vivência quotidiana do Alzheimer

Abstract

A presente dissertação demonstra como o design pode contribuir no quotidiano das pessoas e intervir na comunidade. Através da vivência e do contato com as pessoas e com os problemas reais do dia-a-dia, procurar desenvolver soluções adequadas que correspondam às falhas existentes identificadas. O envelhecimento da população e as respetivas consequências individuais e globais, têm sido foco de interesse na área da gerontologia, de maneira a valorizar as pessoas como únicas. Paralelamente, existe o interesse de outras disciplinas intervirem nesta temática, desenvolvendo diferentes abordagens que não só complementam o trabalho que tem vindo a ser realizado a nível institucional, como procuram soluções inovadoras. Este projeto surge como resposta a uma necessidade sentida no seio familiar, identificada posteriormente como um problema presente em diferentes contextos. A solução desenhada enquadra-se no design de sistema produtoserviço, onde o produto é usado independentemente, sendo complementado pelo serviço.

The present dissertation demonstrates how the design can contribute to the day to day life of people and intervene in the community. Through living and being in contact with people and with their real struggles of everyday life the development of suitable solutions that meet the identified lapses is needed. Population ageing with the respective individual and global consequences has been of great focus in the gerontology area, keeping as main goal to value the people as unique. Simultaneously, other fields of work are showing interest in this theme, developing different strategies that not only complement the work that has been performed at an institutional level but also are trying to find innovative solutions. This project appears as an answer to a necessity within the family, identified later as a problem that exists in different situations. The solution here presented fits with the system of product-service design in which the product is used independently and is complemented by the service.
