This Final Report was prepared to meet the requirements necessary to obtain the Master's Degree in PreSchool and Primary School Education. Developed in the training component of Supervised Pedagogical Practice, the intervention and research project presented in this report, is part of the theme of sensitization of Intralinguístic diversity. It is achieved by approaching aspects that enhance the linguistic and cultural power of the Portuguese Language. In a society marked by linguistic and cultural diversity, schools are not indifferent to this growing phenomen. More and more often it is possible to connect with people from countries that have Portuguese as their official language, people who speak other dialects of the Portuguese language, as well as foreign people. Such diversity requires a certain open-minded perspective, one that can usually be found at schools as they often instigate an international dimension and intercultural understanding. Such diversity requires a certain open-minded perspective, one that can usually be found at schools as they often instigate an international dimension. This is showed by the diversity and quantity of students. Thus, this topic deserves closer attention. The research project was developed in a second-year classroom of a Primary School Education, within a group of schools in the Aveiro district characterized by the existence of linguistic and cultural diversity. For our project we defined the following objectives: to raise awareness of the Intralinguistic Diversity of the Portuguese Language, to develop the linguistic culture of the students, and to promote respect for valuing the Portuguese Language in its diversity. This project presents characteristics of action research. The following techniques and data collection instruments were used: initial and final questionnaire survey addressed to students, participant observation and field notes, audio and videotape recordings, and leaves of student registration and worksheets. Qualitative content analysis was also used as part of the analysis. The initial and final questionnaires were used with the purpose of identifying students' perceptions and knowledge about the subject, and making a comparative analysis of the results in the data collection. The body of analysis also includes the video recordings transcriptions. The construction of the category system helped us to interpret and analyze data regarding the students' knowledge of the languages, they speak and think their colleagues speak, the Portuguese-speaking countries, the existence of a variety of languages, the number of Portuguese speakers in the world and its origins. From the audio records transcripts, we sought for some evidence related with attitudes and values of respect for the Portuguese language and its diversity. The results showed an increase in the linguistic background of students, as well as some signs of respect in other´s cultures, and acknowledgement of the Portuguese language. We believe that the intervention development in our project turned out to be very relevant as we were able to achieve the objectives we set ourselves.
