This report concerns the work developed within the subject of Practice of Teaching, integrated in the 2nd year of the course Master in Music Teaching of the University of Aveiro. The first part presents the research project which intends to be a contribution to the development of a teaching strategy of the instrument, in this case the violin, which seeks in Edwin Gordon's Theory of musical learning, the answer to solve the technical difficulties encountered in the students to the level of constructing a good tuning and rhythmic awareness. In this sense, a research project was designed and implemented that aimed to verify the inference, or not, of a teaching methodology focused on the development of audiology and in the hierarchy of the sequential learning of competences and contents in opposite of a traditional methodology focused on the technical development of the students. In order to obtain a set of data that elucidated this investigation, three tools were delineated to obtain the same data: a questionnaire survey, addressed to nineteen violin teachers, which evaluated their knowledge of Edwin Gordon's theory; an auditory test, intended to the thirteen students who participated in the investigation, which aimed to evaluate the auditory evolution, and a video recording, directed to the thirteen students who participated in the investigation, which intended to evaluate the performative evolution. Through its analysis, it was possible to verify that there is a direct relationship between levels of auditory performance and levels of performative performance, as well as a more significant evolution in a group whose teaching focused on guidelines based on the author's vision. The second part of this report focuses on the observation and reflection on the context in which the Teaching Practice took place.
