Implementação da metodologia 5S: o caso da ARTIPOL – Artes Tipográficas, LDA.

Abstract

A motivação e a organização são a chave do lucro. Inserida numa indústria altamente competitiva, em que o processo de produção representa o maior custo, a ARTIPOL - Artes Tipográficas, Lda. foca a sua estratégia no aumento dos níveis de eficiência. Para tal, pretende agir sobre áreas sensíveis como o planeamento e controlo da produção e a motivação dos seus colaboradores apostando na adoção de práticas Lean. É neste âmbito que se tenta implementar a metodologia 5S, o foco deste trabalho, naquele que se entende que deve ser o primeiro passo rumo ao objetivo estratégico que a empresa ambiciona. A implementação da metodologia 5S foca-se nos principais postos de trabalho de produção, nomeadamente os de impressão offset, plasticização e fissuração, e também nas zonas de suporte às atividades produtivas, transversais a vários setores, tais como o armazenamento temporário de resíduos e o chão de fábrica. Representando esta uma metodologia inovadora para a ARTIPOL - Artes Tipográficas, Lda., é de forma natural que surgem comportamentos de resistência à mudança, por conseguinte, nem todas as intervenções atingem os objetivos desejados, ou são suficientemente consolidadas. Por esta razão, com o intuito de perceber as falhas e de melhorar a abordagem em situações futuras semelhantes, faz-se um inquérito de satisfação aos colaboradores da empresa, que resulta em informação com interesse substancial já reconhecida por outros autores.

Motivation and organization is the key to profit. Inserted in a highly competitive industry where the production process represents the major cost, ARTIPOL - Artes Tipográficas, Lda. focuses its strategy on the enhancing of the efficiency levels. To do this the company wants to act on sensitive areas such as the planning and control of its production and the employee motivation by embracing Lean practices. It is within this scope that attempts to implement the 5S methodology, the main focus of this work, which is believed that must be the first step towards the strategic goal the company aspires. The implementation of the 5S methodology focuses on the main production workstations, namely offset printing, laminating and die-cutting, as well as the production supporting areas such as the temporary storage of waste and the plant floor. This methodology represents an innovation for ARTIPOL - Artes Tipográficas, Lda., thus it is natural that some behaviours of resistance to change arise. Consequently, not all interventions reach the desired objectives, or are sufficiently consolidated. For this reason, in order to understand the failures and to improve the approach to similar situations in the future, a satisfaction survey is carried out to the company's employees, which results in data of substantial interest already recognised by other authors.
