Camilo Pessanha Coleccionador de Arte Chinesa

Abstract

O presente trabalho propõe-se divulgar a colecção de arte chinesa reunida pelo Poeta e Sinólogo Camilo de Almeida Pessanha que se encontra em depósito no Museu Nacional de Machado de Castro em Coimbra. O livro é composto por uma apresentação do coleccionismo e dos principais coleccionadores de arte chinesa no virar do século 19, vida e obra de Camilo Pessanha, seguido de um estudo detalhado da colecção, o respectivo levantamento fotográfico, e uma lista anotada dos pintores chineses representados na colecção. A importante colaboração de diversas personalidades ligadas à área da História e especialmente da História da Arte Chinesa, bem como o levantamento fotográfico e datação dos exemplares que constituem a colecção contribuem para a valorização e o conhecimento mais aprofundado de um património que é de todos.

The present work intends to disclose the Collection of Chinese Art gathered by the Poet and Sinologist Camilo de Almeida Pessanha that is actually in the Museu Nacional de Machado de Castro in Coimbra. The book is composed by the presentation of collecting and of the main collectors of Chinese art in the late 19th century, life and work of Camilo Pessanha followed by a systematic study of the collection, the photographic inventory and a list of the Chinese painters represented in this collection. The important collaboration of several personalities of the area of the History and specially of the History of the Chinese Art, as well as the photographic inventory and date of the works of art that compose the collection contributes to the valorisation and the better knowledge of one patrimony that its of all citizens of the world.
