especificidades historicamente construídas – A Amazônia legal.
previamente levantadas. As três hipóteses consideradas foram (i) a
Dada a
estrutural curricular.
no corpus. The essential purpose of this investigation was to foment reflection upon translator education considering the systemic interaction between the theoretical constructs translation competence and translation undergraduate curriculum in a particular context that presents historically constituted specificities – the Legal Amazon. The objectives were to analyse the curricula of existing undergraduate programs in translation in that region, reflect on the translation subcompetencies identified in such programs and assess the consistency of the hypotheses previously raised. The three hypotheses were (i) the Amazon is a context of significant relevance for the development of researches on translation studies; (ii) the contextual sociolinguistic specificities account for a study under the multi-componential perspective of translation competence and; (iii) there is a substantial disparity between the assumed importance of translation studies in the Amazon and the possibilities for the translator education in the region. The main theoretical references were the studies of the PACTE Group, coordinated by Hurtado Albir (2002, 2003, 2005a, 2005b, 2008, 2009, 2014, 2015) and the conceptions of Kiraly (2000) in the field of translation competence; Apple (1979) and Silva (2005) in the field of curriculum critical studies; and the work of Morin (1999, 2006) and Freeman & Cameron (2008) within the complexity theory domain. Considering the magnitude of the general corpus, its delimitation involved progressive filtering and application of geographic, regulatory and structural benchmarks. The analyses were mainly supported by the complexity theory and the overall results of the study pointed to a scenario of scarce educational opportunities in terms of under graduation translation programs, limited hours to the development of translation competence and absence of contextual aspects in the studied corpus. |
