A relação texto e imagem na criação do livro-álbum : o caso de Catarina Sobral

Abstract

É objetivo da presente dissertação documentar a relevância das obras escritas e ilustradas pela autora Catarina Sobral, que se enquadram no segmento do livro-álbum. Este estudo centra-se na análise técnico-compositiva do corpus de autoria única da referida criadora, procurando indagar a relação dos recursos visuais e retórico-estilísticos que singularizam a sua obra. Analisando a interação entre as vertentes textual e icónica, sublinha-se a especificidade de um género que aposta na imagem como suporte de mensagens com o fim de aproximar o leitor do universo histórico-cultural.

The goal of this thesis is to document the relevance of the written and illustrated work of Catarina Sobral framed under the picturebooks typology. This study focuses on the technical-compositional analysis of the all around production of the corpus of the referred writer in order to question the relation between the visual and the rhetorical-stylistic devices that make her work unique. By analysing the interaction between the textual and iconic languages, it is stressed the uniqueness of this genre that emphasises the image as the support of the messages with the final purpose of bringing the reader together with the historical-cultural universe.
