As cheias no Baixo Mondego no ano hidrológico 2000/2001: avaliação e percepção ao risco de inundação

Abstract

As cheias/inundações associadas ao rio Mondego no Ano Hidrológico 2000/2001 tiveram um grande impacto nas populações do espaço de Coimbra e no Baixo Mondego manifestado através dos elevados prejuízos. Com a caracterização da Bacia Hidrográfica do Mondego e do Aproveitamento Hidráulico do Mondego, foi possível aferir todo o sistema de gestão de cheias no Baixo Mondego. No Planeamento de Emergência para estas situações foi evidenciado o planeamento, o alerta, a missão e a importância da sistematização dos meios e recursos. A tradução da percepção ao risco de inundação foi caracterizada pela análise estatística de um inquérito distribuído pelas freguesias afectadas pelas cheias/inundações do ano hidrológico 2000/2001.

The floods/Inundations’s associated to the Mondego Rive r in the Hydrological Year of 2000/2001 had a great impact on the population of the area of Coimbra and lower Mondego, demonstrated through the high level of damages. Through the characterisation of the hydrographical basin of the Mondego and its hydrological use it became possible to check the whole system of flood management in the lower Mondego. In the emergency Planning for these situations the planning, warning, mission and the importance of systematisation of the means and resources were evidenced. The translation of the risk perception was caracterised by the statistical analysis of an inquiry distributed to the parisches affected by the floods/inundation’s in the hydrological year of 2000/2001.
