Jazz desclassificado: reflexões para a construção de narrativas musicais emancipatórias

Abstract

Esta dissertação apresenta um estudo epistemológico que visa oferecer ferramentas para pensar a pesquisa musical. Consiste na aplicação do pensamento desclassificado proposto por Antonio García Gutiérrez em equação com o conceito de “Bios Midiátio” de Muniz Sodré para discutir as novas relações na transcultura. Apresenta as reflexões de Simon Frith e Tia DeNora para entender as relações entre música, sociedade, identidade e controle social. Discute o desmantelamento dos centros de poder no século XXI e o “descentramento” do poder simbólico no Jazz. Através dos trabalhos de Ken Prouty e Stuart Nicholson analisa o processo de globalização no discurso jazzístico e suas consequências, como a “glocalização”. Descreve algumas mudanças de hábitos em espaços virtuais de convivência que constroem as comunidades de jazz pelo globo e questiona a realidade da formação do músico de jazz no contexto da busca pelo própria voz instrumental. Relata as experiências como músico na “Jam Session: Jazz Standards” e suas implicações com a discussão sobre mediação cultural. Também relata o processo de pesquisa e criação de dois espetáculos pelo duo Pachka e as reflexões que o uso de processos digitais de criação trazem para a performance. Busca discutir possibilidades de construir narrativas artísticas emancipatórias a partir de processos de autorreflexão e questionamento político e da compreensão da obra de arte como interface crítica da sociedade.

This article presents an epistemological study to provide tools to think the musical research. It consists of the application of Desclassification of knowledge proposed by Antonio García Gutiérrez in equation with the concept of "Media Bios" of Muniz Sodré to discuss the new relations in transculture. It presents the reflections of Simon Frith and Aunt Denora to understand the relationship between music, society, identity and social control. Discusses the dismantling of the power centers in the XXI century and the "decentering" of symbolic power in Jazz. Through the works of Ken Prouty and Stuart Nicholson examines the globalization process in jazz speech and its consequences, such as "glocalization". It describes some changes in the social habits in virtual spaces that build the news jazz communities across the globe and questions the reality of the formation of the jazz musician in the context of the search for one`s own instrumental voice. Describes the experiences as a musician in "Jam Session: Jazz Standards" and its implications for the discussion on cultural mediation. It also reports the research process and the creation of two spectacles by the duo Pachka and the reflections that the use of digital creation processes bring to performance. Discusses possibilities of building emancipatory artistic narratives from self-reflection processes and political questioning and understanding of the work of art as critical interface of society.
