Concursos e a sua importância no ensino do clarinete

Abstract

No âmbito do Mestrado em Ensino da Música, especificamente no que concerne à disciplina de Projecto Educativo, procedeu-se ao estudo abaixo relatado, que surgiu da busca de relações entre a participação em concursos e o ensino do clarinete. Para qualquer professor é importante perceber que estratégias devem ser utilizadas para que os seus alunos tenham uma aprendizagem mais eficaz. Deste modo, procedeu-se a um estudo que visa perceber a experiência da comunidade clarinetista em Portugal nesta temática e, em junção com algumas conclusões de outros estudos, perceber o impacto que os concursos têm na aprendizagem do clarinete. Por conseguinte, elaborou-se um inquérito para clarinetistas (alunos e professores) que visou avaliar a experiência dos inquiridos com a participação em concursos e as suas consequências no ensino do clarinete. Concluiu-se uma predominância dos efeitos positivos que a participação dos alunos em concursos tem na sua aprendizagem. Assim sendo, o presente estudo procura dotar os professores de conhecimento que lhes permitam uma decisão mais informada na hora de recomendar ou não os seus alunos a participarem em competições

Within the scope of the Master Degree for Music Teaching of the University of Aveiro, and specifically regarding the Educational Project, the present study arose from the search for relationships between participation on competitions and clarinet teaching. It is important for a teacher to realize which strategies should be used to lead to a more effective learning to his/her students. This way, a study was carried on in order to understand the experience of the Portuguese clarinettists community on this subject. Together with other studies’ conclusions it was possible to understand the impact competitions have on clarinet learning. A survey for clarinettists (students and teachers) was prepared to evaluate the respondents’ experience coming from their participation on competitions and its impact on clarinet education. The conclusion was a predominance of positive effects that the participation of students in competitions have in their learning. At the end, the aim of this study was to provide teachers, with skills and knowledge, helping them to decide wisely about their students participation on competitions.
