O jogo livre no recreio escolar

Abstract

Atualmente muitos profissionais de educação atribuem um elevado valor à prática de jogo em contextos escolares. Efetivamente são vários os autores que comprovam esta importância ao defenderem que o jogo promove o desenvolvimento cognitivo, emocional, motor e social da criança. No 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico o jogo surge essencialmente nos espaços de recreio. Neste enquadramento, a presente investigação tem como objetivo principal compreender o jogo livre no recreio escolar. Este estudo com características de estudo de caso qualitativo, foi realizado num contexto de 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, onde se procurou investigar sobre o jogo livre no espaço de recreio escolar. Definiram-se os seguintes objetivos específicos: identificar os tipos de jogo que ocorrem no recreio e analisar a relação entre tipos de jogo e o género das crianças. O estudo foi possível através da observação de seis crianças (três do género feminino e três do género masculino) no recreio escolar por meio de gravação em vídeo e notas de campo, no período de 19 de outubro de 2015 a 16 de dezembro de 2015. Concluiu-se que o grupo de crianças observado parece ter preferência por jogos de grupo, funcional/exercício, exploratório e luta e perseguição. No que diz respeito à relação entre género e tipo de jogo, a única diferença aparentemente observada foi que para além de ambos os géneros preferirem os jogos de grupo e funcional/exercício, as meninas parecem preferir o jogo exploratório enquanto os meninos tendem mais para o jogo luta e perseguição. Além disto é possível concluir que tanto as meninas como os meninos jogam entre eles, embora aparentemente mostrem uma preferência por jogos com o mesmo género e com os amigos.

Currently many education professionals attach a high value to the practice game in school settings. In fact there are several authors that demonstrate this importance by stating that the game promotes cognitive, emotional, motor and social child. In the 1st cycle of Basic Education the game essentially comes in recreational areas. In this context, this research aims to understand the free play in the school playground. This study of qualitative case study of characteristics was carried out in the context of 1st cycle of basic education, where they tried to investigate about the free game in the school play space. They defined the following specific objectives: identify the types of games that occur in the playground and analyze the relationship between game types and gender of children. The study was possible through observation of six children (three females and three males) in the school playground by video recording and field notes for the period from October 19, 2015 to December 16 2015. It was concluded that the group of children observed appears to have a preference for group games, functional / exercise, exploration and struggle and persecution. With regard to the relationship between gender and type of game, the only difference apparently observed was that in addition to both genders prefer the group matches and functional / exercise, the girls seem to prefer the exploratory game while boys are more likely to game struggle and persecution. In addition it can be concluded that both girls and boys play between them, although apparently show a preference for games with the same gender and with friends.
