Os transportes na logística de entrada: rodoviário vs marítimo

Abstract

O presente relatório resulta de um estágio curricular efectuado no ano lectivo de 2007/2008 na Bosch Termotecnologia SA, integrado no programa do curso de Engenharia e Gestão Industrial. Tendo ocorrido o mesmo no departamento de Logística, proporcionou-se o trabalho sobre a hipótese da eventual transferência de fornecimentos semanais de mercadoria, que tradicionalmente são feitos por via rodoviária, para o modo marítimo. Depois de analisadas as linhas e portos que pareciam mais adequadas ao objectivo em causa e escolhidas as três principais alternativas, adicionando a situação actual, estas foram comparadas utilizando-se para tal o método AHP – Analytic Hierachy Process. Os critérios de comparação utilizados foram o custo, o tempo de trânsito, características do serviço e danos e perdas. Teve-se no estudo um duplo objectivo, em primeiro lugar a hipótese de se conseguirem custos mais atractivos sem descurar a necessária periodicidade do fornecimento. Num segundo tempo, analisar-se da hipótese de, por alternativa conseguida na via marítima, se ultrapassarem constrangimentos já acontecidos como sejam as greves de transportadores rodoviários. Num país periférico com o nosso, que importa e exporta fundamentalmente de e para a União Europeia estes constrangimentos causam situações quase inultrapassáveis às empresas, para as quais é cada vez mais necessário uma boa resposta de meios alternativos de transporte.

The present report results from a curricular internship made in the 2007/2008 school year at Bosch Termotecnologia SA, integrated in the Engineering and Industrial Management course programme. Having occurred the internship in the Logistics Department, the work was based on the hypothesis of the eventual transfer of weekly supplies, traditionally made by road, to an alternative by sea. The lines and ports that seemed more adequate to the goal in cause were analyzed and, after chosen the three main alternatives and added the current situation, were compared using the AHP - Analytic Hierachy Process method. The criteria used were cost, transit time, service features and loss and damage. A double goal was considered in the study, firstly the hypothesis of obtaining attractive costs without relinquishing the necessary regularity of the supply. Secondly, the hypothesis of finding feasible alternatives by sea that could face eventual road forwarders strikes. In a peripheral country like ours, that import and export basically from and for the European Union these constraints cause almost insupportable situations to the companies, for which it is necessary a good reply of alternative transport modes.
