(i) Excelente isolamento térmico e acústico;
This thesis will present the material used in construction with Light Steel Framing (LSF). It will also present all the construction process starting with the foundation right to the roof. The LSF construction is a dry system construction with galvanized steel and OSB, which is then covered by materials with high quality. This method in LSF solves the ecological problems that exist in other methods. Because this construction process is lighter, it does not overload the existing structures. Besides it is easier to manage and transport. Does not age, nor open cracks, nor deform, is not inflammable, being 100% recyclable. Comparing the construction method in study with the traditional masonry solution, it was found that the LSF method presents (i) Excellent thermal insulation and acoustical; (ii) Excellent durability, sustainability and eco-efficiency indicators. The main objective of this thesis consisted in the development and analysis of a structural model of a LSF building, studying the behaviour of the structure in conjunction with the OSB structural panels and the calculation techniques related with the system, prescribed in EN1993 (Eurocode 3) and EN1995 (Eurocode 5). |
