Lengalengas e consciência fonológica na educação pré-escolar

Abstract

O presente estudo pretendia promover o desenvolvimento da consciência fonológica em crianças a frequentar a Educação Pré-Escolar (3 a 5 anos) a partir da exploração de lengalengas. Recolhemos dados relativos ao desempenho das crianças em atividades ligadas à identificação de palavras, sílabas e correspondências fonema-grafema. A análise de conteúdo dos dados recolhidos revelou que as crianças tinham desenvolvido competências em termos do reconhecimento de palavras e da identificação de sílabas e de correspondências fonema-fonema, apesar de revelarem dificuldades. Paralelamente, verificou-se que tinham adquirido vocabulário relacionado com os temas das lengalengas exploradas durante as sessões.

This study aimed to develop the phonological awareness in children attending a kindergarten (3-5 year old) through the study of chants. It was focused on tasks involving the recognition of words, the identification of syllables and the correspondence between phonemes and graphemes. We collected data on the performance of the children that took part in this experiment, through the activities included in the didactic intervention. The content analysis of these data revealed that the children had improved their phonological awareness concerning word recognition and the identification of syllables and phoneme-grapheme correspondence, although they had some trouble doing it. We also observed that they had acquired vocabulary concerning the subjects the chants dealt with.
