O jogo e a educação intercultural no jardim de infância

Abstract

O presente estudo analisa o projeto de intervenção desenvolvido numa sala de Jardim de Infância que tem como grandes temáticas, a educação intercultural e o jogo. Pretendendo analisar como é que o jogo pode contribuir para a sensibilização à diversidade cultural nos primeiros anos de escolaridade. Desde cedo, as crianças devem ter conhecimento das culturas e línguas existentes, sendo assim sensibilizadas para a diversidade linguística e cultural. No entanto, devem também ter contacto com elementos de diferentes culturas e os seus costumes, remetendo para uma educação intercultural. O jogo foi uma estratégia utilizada para que as crianças contactassem com as características de outras culturas, assim como a visita de elementos da cultura Brasileira, Inglesa, Chinesa e Russa proporcionaram às crianças um contacto direto com essas culturas. Os dados foram recolhidos através da observação direta, videogravação, desenhos realizado pelas crianças e inquérito à educadora. Através da análise dos dados recolhidos, podemos concluir que o jogo é uma boa estratégia para sensibilizar as crianças para a diversidade de culturas existente. O jogo, como parte da cultura, contribuiu para que as crianças tivessem maior interesse e contacto com aspetos de outras culturas.

The present study analyzes the intervention project developed in a Nursery Room, in which the main themes are the intercultural education and the game. I pertain to analyze how the game can contribute on raising awareness of the cultural diversity in the early years of schooling. From an early age, children should have knowledge of different cultures and languages, leading to their awareness of the linguistic and cultural diversity. However, they should also have contact with elements of different cultures and traditions, referring therefore, to an intercultural education. The game was a strategy used to ensure that the children had contact with the characteristics of other cultures, as well as the elements of Brazilian, English, Chinese and Russian culture provided the children with a direct contact with these cultures. The data was collected through direct observation, video recording, drawings done by the children and finally through a questionary answered by the teacher. Through the analysis of the collected data, we can conclude that the game is a good strategy to aware children of the diversity of different cultures. The game, as part of culture, helps ensure children to have a greater interest and contact with the aspects of other cultures.
