Humildade dos líderes e eficácia das equipas : um estudo empírico

Abstract

Este estudo investiga como a humildade dos líderes explica o desempenho da equipa, através do efeito mediador da segurança psicológica e do capital psicológico. O estudo envolveu 44 líderes, que descreveram a sua humildade e o seu narcisismo, o capital psicológico e o desempenho da sua equipa, e 126 liderados, que descreveram a humildade do líder e a segurança psicológica da equipa. Os principais resultados obtidos são os seguintes: a) a humildade do líder explica o desempenho da equipa através do efeito mediador da segurança psicológica e do capital psicológico; b) a humildade do líder autoreportada não tem efeito preditivo; O estudo sugere que a humildade é uma virtude crucial para a liderança e aponta para a necessidade de novos estudos que investiguem os seus efeitos, tanto ao nível individual, como ao nível da equipa e da organização.

This study investigates how the humility of the leaders explains team performance through the mediating effect of psychological safety and psychological capital. The study involved 44 leaders, who described his humility and his narcissism, psychological capital and performance of their team, and 126 followers, who described the humility of their leader and the team psychological safety.
