Formas de silêncio em Combateremos a sombra de Lídia Jorge

Abstract

Lídia Jorge afigura-se-nos como uma das mais representativas vozes da pósmodernidade em Portugal, surgindo o seu romance Combateremos a Sombra como um livro cimeiro no quadro do universo literário da autora. Este romance acentua a potencialidade comunicativa da fala interior das personagens, potencialidade essa que, em nosso entender, constitui a matriz inequívoca de grande parte da sua obra. Efetivamente, é a partir da paisagem interior das personagens que escutamos as suas perplexidades, os seus segredos e as suas imprevisibilidades e é nesse mundo à deriva, recortado pelo eterno combate do Homem em busca do sentido indecifrável da existência, que devemos procurar o lugar extremo da voz e as formas atuantes do silêncio.

Lídia Jorge seems to us as one of the most representative voices of the postmodernity in Portugal, being her novel Combateremos a Sombra (We Shall Fight the Shadow) as a lead book in the context of the literary universe of the author. This novel emphasizes the communicative potential of speech inside the characters, which, in our opinion, constitutes the unequivocal array of much of her work. Actually, it is from the inner landscape of the characters that we hear their perplexities, their secrets and their vicissitudes and it is in this world adrift, cropped by the eternal fight of Man in search of the indecipherable meaning of existence that we should look for the extreme place of the voice and the active forms of silence.
