Avaliação da metodologia b-Learning no Mestrado Multimédia em Educação da Universidade de Aveiro

Abstract

A crescente ubiquidade da Internet, a exploração do potencial das comunidades de aprendizagem virtuais, a democratização dos meios de produção de informação e a valorização do utilizador como co-produtor de conteúdos, estão a acarretar mudanças significativas no mundo da educação. Estas implicam, muitas vezes, a readaptação metodológica a novos espaços de interacção e ao desenvolvimento de novas competências pelos intervenientes ao longo do processo educativo. Sujeitas cada vez mais à concorrência do mercado mundial, as universidades contemporâneas dependem, para a sua sobrevivência, de uma linha de produtos variada e bem organizada. Este facto coloca instituições e organizações perante decisões críticas relativamente à forma como moldam e influenciam as suas mudanças. Essas respostas dependem directamente de uma recolha de dados que possibilite a identificação e delineação de áreas de intervenção. O presente estudo centra-se na análise da metodologia b-learning no curso de Mestrado em Multimédia em Educação da Universidade de Aveiro, Portugal. Esta investigação recorre a dois instrumentos de recolha de dados: o primeiro instrumento é uma análise de conteúdo dos registos dos fóruns de discussão do Mestrado em Multimédia em Educação, com o qual se identificaram potenciais áreas de intervenção acerca da adopção da metodologia b-learning; o segundo (e principal) instrumento é o questionário que, tendo na sua génese as considerações recolhidas com o primeiro instrumento, permitiu recolher dados, de uma forma mais precisa, de alunos e de professores (principais intervenientes no processo educativo). Esta dissertação tem como principal objectivo contribuir para a melhoria das condições de ensino/aprendizagem no Ensino Superior, em situações em que a metodologia b-learning seja adoptada.

ABSTRACT: The rising ubiquity of Internet, the study of the virtual learning communities and its potential, the democratization of the information production media (web 2.0) and the growing importance of the user as a content co-producer, are leading to significant changes in the education world. These often require methodological adaptation to the emerging interaction spaces and the need for the attainment of new skills by the educational actors (students and teachers). Increasingly exposed to world market competition, contemporary universities depend, for their survival, on a varied and well organized line of products. This situation throws those institutions towards critic decisions related to the way they shape and influence their changes. Their response relies directly on data collection that indicates where action is needed. This study focuses on the analysis of the b-learning methodology in the Master Course in Multimedia in Education from the University of Aveiro, Portugal. A research which relies on two research tools for data gathering: the first tool used was the content analysis of the communications occurred in the Masters course in Multimedia in Education forums, were some clues about implementation of the b-learning methodology were found, these shown key areas were action was needed; the second tool used was a questionnaire and was conceived according to the clues found earlier, and had the purpose to collect more precise data directly from students and teachers (the main actors in this educational process) The main purpose of this dissertation is the improvement of the learning/teaching experiences when the b-learning methodology is applied.
