Abstract: The study presented is part of a research on the built-up heritage of vernacular architecture, with particular emphasis on the prominence of knowledge in the conservation of this heritage. The overall aim is to highlight the importance of obtaining, interpreting, transmit and disseminate information and knowledge on materials, building systems and traditional techniques, in order to promote the sustainably safeguarding of the built-up heritage.
