This paper presents a study of an economic nature, about two ways of obtaining energy through the so-called unlimited or renewable energy resources: the Low Enthalpy Geothermal (GBE) Biothermal energy from wastewater (BAR) for use in thermo active buildings systems (TABS). The objective of this study is based on data from design and construction of two buildings at the University of Aveiro: the building ESSUA and the building CICFANO. The use of forms of energy by means of local renewable energy resources is already implemented some European country, so this study is based on success cases as a reference, this working method called "benchmarking". With the development and completion of this work it was possible to obtain positive indicators with regard to the points under discussion, such as cost reduction, reduced maintenance, goals of European directives and feasibility of implementation of these new systems in school buildings in Portugal. This study may also be a lever for future work and investigations, as well as the target of an addition with new data obtained from herein and other buildings of the same type that are starting to be built with the same technology. |
