Os cursos de educação formação: um estudo de caso

Abstract

O trabalho que apresentamos teve como finalidade aprofundar o conhecimento sobre os Cursos de Educação Formação, criados pelo Despacho Conjunto nº 453/2004, e o contributo destes para a diminuição do (in)sucesso escolar e como alternativa ao sistema de ensino regular. Entendemos que esta temática é pertinente no actual contexto educativo português, pelo que nos moveu uma preocupação académica de compreender a crescente oferta e procura destes cursos, relacionando-as com o fenómeno do insucesso escolar. Na parte teórica deste trabalho abordou-se a temática do insucesso escolar e as políticas educativas que em Portugal têm sido implementadas para combater este fenómeno e, descreveu-se de modo sucinto, a criação e organização destes cursos. Utilizou-se uma metodologia qualitativa, de modo a valorizar as informações dos sujeitos, pelo que o estudo, assentou na modalidade de estudo de caso, tendo por base duas turmas de uma escola do litoral centro, pertencentes a dois cursos distintos de Educação Formação. Uma das turmas já se encontrava no segundo ano do curso e a outra estava ainda no primeiro ano. Apesar da limitação de tempo, foi nossa intenção aplicar vários instrumentos de recolha de informação de modo a garantir a fiabilidade do estudo e a atingir os objectivos a que nos propusemos. Deste estudo resultaram algumas conclusões que, devido às características inerentes à natureza do estudo não permitem fazer generalizações. Pensamos no entanto que este trabalho servirá como documento de reflexão para todos os que se preocupam com a problemática do insucesso escolar e trabalham dentro deste contexto.

ABSTRACT: The main aim of this present work was to deepen the knowledge on the Educational and Formation Courses, created by the Joint Decree No. 453/2004, and its contribution to the decrease of (in)success at school and as an alternative to the regular education system. We believe that this issue is relevant in the current educational Portuguese context, and so, we moved an academic concern to understand the growing supply and demand for such courses, relating them to the phenomenon of school failure. In the theoretical part of this study we have decided to talk about school failure and educational policies in Portugal that have been implemented to combat this phenomenon and described it in summary, and so, we intend to describe the creation and the organization of these courses. We use a qualitative methodology in order to emphasize the information given by the interviwed pelople; so our study was based on the type of a study case and the information obtained comes from two classes of a school placed in the coast center of Portugal, which belong to two different courses. One of the classes was already in the second year and the other was still in the first year of the course. Despite the tight schedule, we want to apply various tools to gather information in order to ensure the reliability of the study and achieve the goals we set ourselves. This study led to some conclusions which due to the certain characteristics inherent from this type of study doesn´t allow you to make generalizations. We believe however, that this work will serve as a discussion document for all who are concerned with the problem of school failure and work within this context.
