formulamos a nossa opinião, e consequentemente fazemos as nossas
escolhas (Entman, 1993, p.55).
realmente mudam a opinião consoante as informações que lhes serão
dadas.
The opinion of each one of us is influenced by information we receive throughout our life. According to the information we receive, we can formulate our opinion and therefore we make our choices (Entman, 1993, p.55). Since we are influenced by the information provided for us, we don't always make the choices that are rational, not always maximize our advantage when we perform a choice (Ferejohn & Pasquino, 2001, p.5). This happens due to the framing. The framing is a phenomenon through which people develop a certain conception or reformulate their thinking about an issue or a personality (Chong & Druckman, 2007, p.104). Using framing, gives us more emphasis to some aspects of reality, trying to outshine the others (Entman, 1993, p.55). This phenomenon leads to changes in the judgement of a particular subject, resulting from small changes in the definition of the same subject (Iyengar, 1987, p.816). In this study we use the framing to see if people really change the point of view depending on the information that we give to them. We want to try to understand what is ultimately, the most important: the message that is transmitted or who transmits the message. |
