Qualidade da oferta educativa na creche

Abstract

Em Portugal têm sido realizadas poucas investigações acerca da educação de crianças em Creche e, dada a actual obrigatoriedade legal da existência de educadores de infância nesse contexto, torna-se pertinente a elaboração de um estudo em que se recolha a opinião dos educadores acerca das suas práticas educativas, nomeadamente ao nível da Qualidade da Oferta Educativa proporcionada. A própria OCDE faz notar que há ausência de enquadramento curricular ou educativo sendo as creches portuguesas ao nível legislativo e prático, apenas de carácter assistencialista (Ministério da Educação, 2000: 294). Para que se acentue e valorize a vertente educativa da creche há que dar voz às práticas dos educadores de infância nesse contexto, práticas essas um pouco subestimadas e à margem do sistema educativo português, de algumas formações académicas e de investigações nacionais. Tendo por base o “Sics (Ziko), Well-Being and Involvement in Care, a Process- Oriented Self Evaluation Instrument for Care Settings”, de Laevers, F. (ed.) (2005), que traduzimos e adaptamos, procedeu-se à recolha da opinião de 90 educadores em contexto de Creche no Distrito de Aveiro, ao nível de 3 categorias de análise, a saber: Grau de Estimulação no Contexto; Sensibilidade no Contexto e Promoção da Autonomia no Contexto. Os dados alcançados indicam que existe Qualidade da Oferta Educativa nas práticas dos educadores que responderam ao questionário. Fundamentar-se-á tais resultados, uma vez que até então, estudos realizados acerca da Qualidade em Contextos de Infância indicam precisamente o contrário. Espera-se portanto, que este estudo, pioneiro em Portugal, seja um importante contributo para todos os profissionais de educação de crianças pequenas, para que aprendam a desenvolver práticas adequadas, de qualidade e se consciencializem dessa importância.

ABSTRACT: In Portugal there have only been a few investigations concerning the children's education in day care, and given the current legal obligation of the childhood educators' in that matter, it becomes of major importance the creation of a study which seizes the educators' opinion concerning their educational practices, mainly at the level of Quality of Care Provisions. Even OECD makes to notice there is a lack of curriculum or educational fitting, as the Portuguese day cares only have a supportive condition at the legislative and practical level (Ministério da Educação, 2000: 294). To increase and value the educational aspect of the day care, we must give voice to childhood educators' practices (in that matter), those practice have been slightly underestimated and at the edge of the Portuguese educational system, of some academic formations and national investigations. Taking "Sics (Ziko), Well-Being and Involvement in Care, Process-Oriented Self Evaluation Instrument goes Care Settings" into consideration, translated and adapted based on Laevers, F. (ed.) (2005), using the empirical study it was collected the opinion of 90 educators in context of day-care center in the District of Aveiro, to the level of 3 categories of analysis, they are: Degree of Stimulation in the Context; Sensitivity in the Context and Promotion of the Autonomy in the Context. The achieved results suggest there is Quality of Care Provisions in the educators' practices that answered to the questionnaire. We’ll base such results, since, studies concerning the Quality in Contexts of Infancy indicates the opposite. We hope that this pioneer study in Portugal can be an important contribution for all professionals of very young children's education, so that they can learn how to develop appropriate and meaningful practices, and also be aware of that importance.
